Ann-Kathrin Rahm is a Senior Physician and Lecturer at the Department of Cardiology, Angiology, and Pulmonology at Heidelberg University. She leads the Group of Molecular and Translational Cardiac Electrophysiology and the Cardiovascular Training and Continuing Education program. Her roles include clinical practice, research, and academic leadership in cardiology.
Education: MME (Master of Medical Education) from Heidelberg University, MD with a focus on cardiology, and a PhD in molecular cardiology. She has completed advanced training in cardiac arrhythmia management and invasive electrophysiology.
Research interests focus on cardiac electrophysiology, ion channel dysfunction in heart failure, and therapeutic strategies for arrhythmias. Her work integrates molecular biology, clinical cardiology, and translational research.
Key publications include studies on catheter ablation outcomes in heart failure patients, electrophysiological effects of drugs, and mechanisms of ventricular remodeling in cardiomyopathy. She has contributed to over 40 peer-reviewed articles.
Awards include the Dr. Wilma Moser Prize and grants from DZHK and the German Heart Foundation. She holds leadership roles in the German Cardiac Society (DGK) and European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA).
Her lab explores molecular mechanisms of arrhythmias and novel therapies, with a focus on potassium channel regulation and stereotactic radiotherapy for ventricular arrhythmias.
