Ann Gleason, JD is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Criminal Justice department at Belmont Abbey College. She holds a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and dual Bachelor degrees in BS and BA from Chestnut Hill College. Her teaching focuses on foundational criminal justice courses such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Juvenile Law, American Courts, and Famous Trials. Her research interests span Criminal Prosecution, Intellectual Property, and Civil Litigation with a particular emphasis on modern legal challenges in digital media and copyright law.
Dr. Gleason’s professional experience bridges courtrooms, corporate boardrooms, and academia, fostering strong communication skills in legal explanations. Her recent publications explore contemporary legal issues like copyright conflicts in social media platforms (TikTok/Instagram), Lanham Act applications, and weaponization of copyright laws. She is known for her versatility in addressing both legal professionals and lay audiences.
