Ann Austin is a University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University (MSU) in the College of Education, where she has held roles such as Interim Vice Provost, Associate Vice President for Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs, Interim Dean, and Associate Dean for Research. Her career includes leadership positions at the National Science Foundation and the Association for the Study of Higher Education.
Dr. Austin’s research focuses on organizational change in higher education, enhancing teaching and learning, faculty development, and inclusive academic environments. She has received significant funding from the National Science Foundation and other foundations.
She is a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association and a U.S. Fulbright Fellow. Her work with the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) highlights her commitment to doctoral student teaching development.
Dr. Austin has published extensively and is set to release a new book on teaching evaluation from Harvard Education Press in September.
