Jennifer Austin

Jennifer Austin is the Assistant Dean for the College of Health Sciences and Program Director for the PhD in Health Sciences at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, holding dual roles as an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences. With over 20 years of academic experience, she specializes in program development, accreditation, and student mentorship, having led master’s and bachelor’s programs in athletic training.

Her educational background includes a PhD in Higher Education from Ohio University, alongside a Master of Science in Physical Education (Athletic Training) and Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (Exercise Physiology). Dr. Austin’s research focuses on clinical reasoning, equestrian medicine, and physical fitness, with peer-reviewed publications and national/international conference presentations.

Leadership contributions include curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and accreditation success (zero compliance issues). She actively participates in academic governance and has received awards for her advising excellence and commitment to student success.
