Prof. Dr. Anja Linstädter is a Professor in Biodiversity Research and Systematic Botany at the University of Potsdam, Germany. She leads a research group focusing on rangeland ecology, ecosystem functioning under global change, and social-ecological systems resilience. Her work spans Sub-Saharan Africa, Mediterranean ecosystems, and European grasslands.
Education: PhD (2001) from University of Cologne, Habilitation (2015) also from Cologne. She has held roles as Volkswagen Foundation Independent Research Group Leader (2004–2007) and Senior Scientist at WASCAL (West African Science Service Center).
Her research integrates ecological and socio-economic perspectives, addressing challenges such as climate change impacts, sustainable land use, and pastoralism. Key projects include:

- Global Change Experimental Facility (GCEF)
- Future Rural Africa (CRC 228)
She has received awards including the Merian Poster Award (2008) and supervises a dynamic team of PhD candidates and MSc students across multiple international collaborations.
