Florian Männer

Florian Männer is a PhD candidate affiliated with the University of Potsdam (Institute for Biology and Biochemistry, Department of Biodiversity Research / Systematic Botany), the University of Bonn (INRES - Grassland Ecology & Grassland Management), and the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD. His research focuses on grassland and vegetation ecology, ecological tipping points in drylands, forage provision analysis, hyperspectral sensing, and remote sensing.

Current projects include:

• NamTip: Investigating desertification tipping points in Namibia's semi-arid savannah rangelands, analyzing functional plant traits and forage provision under drought and grazing stress.
• SEBAS: Using hyperspectral canopy sensing to study grassland traits like biomass, forage quality, and plant functional types in central European grasslands.

His academic career includes:
