Dr. Animesh Kumar Gain is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management and Policy at Murdoch University's School of Environmental and Conservation Sciences. Affiliated with the Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Ecosystems at the Harry Butler Institute, his research focuses on climate change adaptation, water resources management, and environmental governance in coastal and delta regions.
His educational background includes a PhD in Science and Management of Climate Change, MSc in Water Resources Development, and BSc in Environmental Science. A contributing author to the IPCC 6th Assessment Report, he serves as Editor-in-Chief for Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences.
Research explores social-ecological systems and nature-based solutions, with over 50 publications in high-impact journals including Nature and Earth's Future. His work examines policy frameworks for sustainable environmental management under climate change pressures.
