Dr. Anil Pahwa is a University Distinguished Professor and Logan-Fetterhoof Chair in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Kansas State University's Carl R. Ice College of Engineering. With over 38 years on faculty, he previously served as department head and graduate program coordinator.
Education includes:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Texas A&M University (1983)
- MS in Electrical Engineering, University of Maine (1979)
- B.E. (Honors) in Electrical Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (1975)
Research focuses on reliability and automation of power distribution systems, including cyber technologies for grid automation and renewable energy integration. Current NSF projects investigate holonic multi-agent systems for distributed solar power management and proactive consumer energy trading.
Leadership includes chairing IEEE PES committees and editorship of IEEE Transactions on Power Systems (2010-2015). International work spans 20+ countries including energy projects in Africa and Asia.
Honors and awards recognize contributions to power systems education and distribution automation research. Received continuous NSF funding since 1994 totaling $3M as lead PI across 28 projects.
