Jignesh Solanki

Jignesh Solanki is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University’s Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. He joined WVU in 2022, following a decade as a Research Assistant Professor (2009–2020) and a subsequent role as Teaching Assistant Professor (2021). Prior to academia, he worked as a Senior Engineer in Power System Research and Development at Open Systems International Inc.

  • B.E. in Electrical Engineering, Nagpur University (1998)

Research Interests: His work focuses on distribution automation for smart grids and intelligent applications for power systems, with publications in IEEE Transactions, IET, ASNE, Springer, Elsevier, and IEEE PES conferences. His research has been cited hundreds of times internationally.

Leadership & Service: Solanki chaired the IEEE PES PEEC Student Activities Subcommittee, organizing programs for over 4,600 students across global conferences. He also led the IEEE PES Microgrid Control Taskforce and served as General Chairman for the 49th North American Power Symposium hosted by WVU.
