Anil Gaba

Anil Gaba is the ORPAR Chaired Professor of Risk Management and Professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD. He serves as Academic Director of the Centre on Decision Making and Risk Analysis. Previously, he held leadership roles including Dean of Faculty at INSEAD (2006–2009) and Dean of Faculty and Research at INSEAD Asia Campus (2002–2006). He co-founded the INSEAD Asia Campus in Singapore and has extensive consulting experience with global firms like Netflix, HSBC, and Goldman Sachs.

Education: PhD in Decision Sciences from Duke University (USA) and B.A. (Hons) in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, India. His research focuses on subjective information assessment, decision-making under uncertainty, and risk analysis. He has published in journals like Management Science and Marketing Science, and co-authored Dance with Chance: Making Luck Work For You.

Teaching spans MBA, PhD, and executive programs, including courses on Uncertainty, Data & Judgment. He co-directs the International Directors Program and has won teaching awards 14 times. Key research areas include forecasting competitions (e.g., M5 and M6), Bayesian analysis, and behavioral decision theory.

Consulting and speaking engagements include keynote addresses at World Economic Forum events and CFA Institute Conferences. His work bridges academic rigor with practical applications in finance, asset management, and corporate decision-making.
