Robin Bagchi is an Honorary Practice Fellow at the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, Imperial College Business School, and an Honorary Visiting Professor at Bayes Business School, City St George's, University of London. His email is r.bagchi@imperial.ac.uk.
Robin holds a PhD in Leadership Psychology from City St George's, University of London, an LLM from Harvard Law School (Fulbright Scholar), and an LLB from the London School of Economics. He also holds the CFA designation.
His research focuses on the intersection of leadership psychology, venture success, and sales dynamics. He has developed courses such as The Psychology of Sales: Mastering the Mindset to Drive Results and workshops like From Vision to Venture: The Founder's Playbook for Fundraising and Reimagining Leadership in the Age of AI. His work explores themes like self-compassion in leadership during uncertainty and psychological underpinnings of venture success.
Robin teaches MBA and Masters modules at Imperial College and Bayes Business School, including Tolerating Uncertainty in Leadership and Effective Board Leadership and Culture. He supervises students across MBA, Masters, and PhD programmes at both institutions.
His scientific awards include the Fulbright Scholar designation from Harvard Law School. He has also founded Elysium Advisory, a behavioral change consultancy, and chairs the London Technology Club, a venture fund and tech community.
Robin's career spans over three decades in investment banking, private markets, and venture capital. He held leadership roles at Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Bank of America, and co-founded MainFirst Bank (acquired by Stifel). He also served as CEO of a multinational investment holding company before transitioning to academia.
