Angus Watson

Angus Watson is an Honorary Professor in Health Sciences at the University of Stirling and holds a dual role as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon and Director of Research and Development at NHS Highland. He leads a research team of 8 staff focusing on areas including Randomised Clinical Trials, biomarker discovery (microbiomics/metabolomics), digital media in healthcare, cognitive behavioral therapies for chronic illness, rural healthcare delivery, and systematic reviews. Clinically, he specializes in colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), serving as Deputy Chair of the NIHR IBD Research Group.
