Dr. Angelica M. Guillen is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work, Dominican University, since Fall 2023. She previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the same institution in Spring 2023. With over 20 years of community work experience and 13+ years in social work practice, her expertise spans domestic violence, mental health, medical social work, and advocacy for unhoused youth and older adults.

Her research focuses on interdisciplinary gerontological studies through an intersectionality lens, emphasizing womxn’s issues, grandparent caregiving, loneliness, and older adult experiences. She also integrates social justice and intersectional frameworks into social work education and direct practice.
Dr. Guillen holds a LCSW license and provides clinical supervision for students and staff alongside her role as a psychotherapist offering individual and family therapy.
