Angelica Guillen

Angelica Guillen is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Dominican University since Fall 2023, with over 20 years of community work experience. She previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the same institution.

• PhD in Gerontology, Concordia University
• MSW in Multigenerational Practice, University of Washington
• BA in Justice Studies, Northeastern Illinois University

Her research focuses on interdisciplinary gerontological studies, emphasizing womxn’s issues, grandparent caregiving, loneliness in aging populations, and community-based participatory research through an intersectionality lens. She integrates social justice and gender studies into social work education and practice.

Guillen holds a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification and provides individual/family therapy as a psychotherapist. She supervises clinical hours for students and staff while teaching direct practice methods across micro/macro levels of social work.
