Angela Venegas-Murillo

Angela Venegas-Murillo, MD, MPH, MS, MS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. She also serves as a General Pediatrician at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Pediatric Medical Home Clinic. Her academic journey includes clinical training and advanced research fellowships focused on community health interventions.

Dr. Venegas-Murillo specializes in addressing the intersection of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Trauma Informed Care, and Childhood Obesity, with emphasis on Social Determinants of Health. Her work explores how trauma-informed approaches can improve pediatric primary care outcomes for obesity and mental health. Current projects involve collaboration with the UCAAN initiative and the UCLA Nathanson Family Resilience Center to integrate trauma-informed frameworks across clinical settings.
