Dr. Angela S. Steineck is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she is also a member of the Cancer Center. She provides clinical care at Children's Wisconsin and has expertise in pediatric hematology/oncology with a focus on CAR T-cell therapy, quality of life assessment, and palliative care for children with cancer.
Dr. Steineck completed her medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin (2013), followed by pediatric residency at Stanford University (2016) and fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the University of Washington (2019). She earned a Master's degree in 2020 from the University of Washington. Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, she joined the faculty at Medical College of Wisconsin in 2021 after serving as an Acting Instructor at the University of Washington.
Her research program centers on understanding and improving the experiences of children receiving CAR T-cell therapy, with particular attention to quality of life, symptom burden, and psychosocial needs. She has developed the 'CAR T PLUS' intervention to address supportive care needs during immunotherapy and has published extensively on integrating patient voices into treatment decisions for children with cancer. Her work has been recognized through competitive research funding from the American Cancer Society, NIH, and other organizations.
Dr. Steineck's publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on patient-centered outcomes in pediatric oncology, with recent work examining social support resources, digital technology use, and the evolution of treatment goals in adolescents and young adults with cancer. Her publications appear in high-impact journals including Transplant Cell Ther, Pediatr Blood Cancer, and J Pain Symptom Manage.

Her leadership extends to national professional organizations where she serves on committees focused on quality of life, patient-reported outcomes, and supportive care in pediatric oncology.
