Dr. Erin E Crotty is an attending physician and pediatric oncologist specializing in brain and spinal cord tumors at Seattle Children's Hospital, where she serves as the clinical oncology lead for the Retinoblastoma Program. She holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine and is affiliated with the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Research.
Her educational background includes an MD from George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, pediatric residency training at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and hematology/oncology fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington with additional translational research training at Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center.
Dr. Crotty's research focuses on bringing innovative therapies to children with difficult-to-treat central nervous system tumors, with particular emphasis on immunotherapies, CAR T-cell approaches, and precision medicine. She leads early phase clinical trials for children with brain tumors and serves as site Principal Investigator for the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-oncology Consortium (PNOC) and the Collaborative Network for Neuro-oncology Clinical Trials (CONNECT). Her clinical work includes moderating Seattle Children's weekly Brain Tumor Board for multidisciplinary case reviews.
Analysis of Dr. Crotty's recent publications reveals a strong focus on novel therapeutic approaches for pediatric CNS tumors, particularly CAR T-cell therapies targeting multiple antigens (B7-H3, EGFR, HER2, IL-13Ralpha2), liquid biopsy techniques using CSF for disease monitoring, and molecularly guided treatment strategies for high-grade gliomas and medulloblastoma. Her work bridges translational research with clinical application, emphasizing targeted therapies and immunotherapeutic approaches.
Dr. Crotty actively contributes to advancing the field through numerous clinical trials including PNOC022 for diffuse midline gliomas, PNOC028 for natural killer cell therapy, and SC-9017 for pediatric low-grade glioma. Her leadership in the Brain Tumor Program at Seattle Children's demonstrates commitment to bringing laboratory discoveries directly to patient care.
