Angela Facundo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Queen's University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. She holds a PhD from York University (2013) and is a Registered Psychotherapist in private practice. Her research focuses on intersections between sexuality, knowledge formation, and narratives of attachment, particularly through psychoanalytic and queer theoretical lenses. Current projects explore empathy and literature through catastrophe narratives in works by authors like Kazuo Ishiguro and Ali Smith.
Research Interests include Literary/Critical Theory, Queer Theory, Gender Studies, Psychoanalysis, and Contemporary Fiction. Her publications analyze theoretical frameworks and textual narratives that challenge oppressive structures. Clinical training at the Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis informs her work bridging academic and clinical practices.
Publications include Oscillations of Literary Theory (2016), reviews in Journal of Mennonite Studies and English Studies in Canada. Her interdisciplinary approach connects literary studies with mental health and pedagogy.
