Dr Lucy Arnold is a Lecturer in English Literature (Contemporary) and School Research & Knowledge Exchange Coordinator at the University of Worcester. She specializes in contemporary gothic, haunting narratives, and women's writing, with a focus on psychoanalytic criticism. Her research explores spectral themes in literature, particularly the work of Hilary Mantel. She is the principal investigator on an AHRC-funded project 'Haunting Issues: Children, Spectrality and Culture'.
Education:

- BA(Hons) English Literature and Theatre Studies, University of Leeds (2010) – 2:1
Research Interests: Contemporary Gothic, Haunting Narratives, Women's Writing, Psychoanalytic Theory (post-Freudian), Life Writing, and Mental Illness Narratives. She advises PhD candidates in these areas.
Teaching: Modules include 'Spaces of Modernity', 'Literary Criticism: Theory and Practice', and 'Queer Bodies, Queer Texts'. She is developing new courses on psychoanalysis, ghost story evolution, and contemporary fiction.
Grants & Leadership: Leads an AHRC-funded research network examining spectrality in children's culture. Serves as School Research Coordinator.
