Andy McCarroll is a Senior Lecturer in the Management Division of the University of Chester Business School, part of the Faculty of Science, Business and Enterprise. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supervises Master's dissertations and PhD theses, and serves as a faculty assessment officer supporting academic processes. McCarroll holds an EdD from the University of Chester, MA in Education (Leadership) from Glyndwr University, PGCERT in Business Administration from The Open University, PGCE from Glyndwr University, and BA (Hons) in Politics from University of Ulster.
His research explores leadership theory and practice with focus areas including authenticity in leadership, organizational culture dynamics, leadership in educational settings, and leadership within Sport National Governing Bodies. McCarroll's publications examine authentic leadership challenges in sports governance and organizational culture tensions in further education institutions.
As module leader for the MSc Management programme, he focuses on 'Leading Effectively' and 'Understanding and Managing People,' while also teaching innovation management and HRM-related modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
