Andy Coyles is an Assistant Professor in the Sport Exercise and Rehabilitation Department at Northumbria University. He previously served as Area Lead for Exercise and Sports Coaching at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), where he developed and taught modules across levels 3-7. A UEFA A licensed coach, he has coached at Premier League football academies and led MMU’s men’s football team to five league titles and three national finals. His research focuses on coaching behaviors, athlete perceptions, and student transition to university. He holds a BA in Physical Education, MA in Exercise and Sports Coaching, and Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (FHEA).
