Dr. Andy Coverdale is a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, affiliated with the Centre for Research in Inclusion. His work focuses on digital accessibility, research methods, and inclusive/participatory research, particularly in education and workplace contexts. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Nottingham, where his thesis explored the role of social media in doctoral education.
Current research includes the Teaching Accessibility in the Digital Skill Set project (UKRI-funded), examining pedagogies of digital accessibility in academia and industry, and the Changing Research Practice initiative (ESRC-funded), analyzing methodological adaptations during the pandemic. Andy has over a decade of experience in inclusive research with learning disability communities, including roles as a Learning Manager in a charity organization.
His publications span digital accessibility education, research methods innovation, and pandemic-related research practices. Notable collaborations include work with the National Centre for Research Methods and the SIGACCESS journal.
