Professor Andy Clegg is a renowned academic in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Leeds and an Honorary Consultant Geriatrician at Bradford Royal Infirmary. He holds leadership roles including Head of Ageing and Stroke Research at the University, Theme Lead in the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire & Humber, Co-Director of Health Data Research UK North, and Workstream Co-Lead in the NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre. His research focuses on maximising independence for older people, with significant impacts on UK and international health policy.
He was awarded the prestigious NIHR Research Professorship in 2025, one of only three recipients at the University of Leeds.
