András Takács is a University Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs, Hungary. He has served as Dean since 2022 and previously as Deputy Dean for Education and Budget from 2015 to 2022, with an academic career spanning since 2001.
He earned his Master of Science (MSc) and English-Hungarian professional translation degrees, alongside a certified accountant qualification, from the Faculty in 2001. He completed his PhD at the Faculty's Doctoral School of Economics by 2008 and habilitated in 2014.
Professor Takács' research centers on corporate valuation dynamics, specifically examining value-price relationships and corporate financial performance versus stock market prices. His work has expanded into fair valuation practices, IFRS standard-setting efficiency, and ESG criteria impacts on profitability, bridging accounting, finance, and sustainability disciplines.
His recent publications reveal a strategic shift toward sustainable finance, with the 2023 green technology investment study, 2022 golden ratio capital structure model, and 2020 post-crisis market analysis collectively demonstrating expertise in valuation innovation while increasingly integrating environmental and governance factors.
He teaches accounting, advanced corporate finance, and corporate valuation across Hungarian and English-language undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs at the Faculty of Business and Economics.
