Andrzej Pniewski

Andrzej Pniewski is a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture and Design. He has served there for over 45 years, starting as an assistant in 1973 under Professor Ryszard Semka. His roles include Dean of the Faculty (2005–2008) and initiator of the Architecture of Cultural Spaces program. He has supervised over 100 MA theses and 50 BA theses in applied arts.

Education:

• Graduate of the Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk
• Completed studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk

Research & Artistic Work: Focuses on architectural design, interior architecture, exhibition projects, and cultural space planning. He is a co-author of competition entries and actively participates in evaluating artistic craftsmanship. His work emphasizes the intersection of art and functional spaces.

• Multiple awards from Academy rectors for teaching and organizational excellence

Leadership & Initiatives: Spearheaded the Architecture of Cultural Spaces academic program and contributed to faculty governance as Dean. His efforts have shaped the curriculum and artistic direction of the institution.
