Andrew West

Andrew West is a Fellow and Research Fellow at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM), where he has collaborated with leading artists such as Emma Bell, James Gilchrist, and Mark Padmore. He also teaches at the Music Faculty of the University of Cambridge. His career spans over twenty years of partnership with flautist Emily Beynon, resulting in notable recordings like the complete works of Les Six for Hyperion Records. He has directed the Nuremberg International Chamber Music Festival and serves as Chairman and Music Director of the Kirkman Concert Society, supporting young musicians.

Education: MA (Hons) from Clare College, Cambridge, with studies under Christopher Elton and John Streets at the RAM.

Research interests focus on chamber music, art song (particularly Schubert and Lieder), and British classical repertoire. His recordings emphasize 20th-century works and English music, including collaborations with SOMM Records.

Notable achievements include the Gerald Moore Award for accompanists and jury service at the Kathleen Ferrier Competition. His artistic contributions span concert performances globally, from Aldeburgh Festival to the Library of Congress.
