Dr. Andrew Thompson is a Senior Tutor and Official Fellow at Queens' College, University of Cambridge, where he oversees academic and welfare provision. He holds the rank of Newton Trust Affiliated Lecturer in the Faculty of History, specializing in eighteenth-century British and European history. Thompson completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at Cambridge, focusing on religious and political intersections in early modern Europe.

- Roles: Senior Tutor (since 2021), Admissions Tutor at Queens', and lecturer in British and European history courses
His research interests span eighteenth-century politics, religion’s role in European state systems, and the Hanoverian monarchy. He has published extensively on topics such as George II’s reign and Protestant dissent. Thompson currently supervises six PhD students and advises on historical BBC productions. He also chairs Queens’ College’s committee on historical ties to the slave trade.
Teaching responsibilities include Part I British and European history modules (Papers 5 and 17) and Part II dissertation supervision. His recent work explores borderlands history and the Atlantic economy’s interconnectedness.
