Andrew PHANG is a Distinguished Professor of Law at the Yong Pung How School of Law, Singapore Management University (SMU), and currently serves as a Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He holds advanced degrees including an LLB (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore (1982), LLM (1984), and SJD (1988) from Harvard Law School. His academic career includes roles such as Senior Counsel and contributions to legal education and scholarship.
Professor PHANG’s research focuses on Contract Law, Tort Law, Law of Unjust Enrichment, and Jurisprudence. His recent work explores theories of adjudication, comparative common law, and the integration of legal history into modern doctrines. Notable publications include Towards A New Theory of Adjudication – Integrating Theory and Practice (2025) and edited volumes on legal pioneers like Yong Pung How.
