YEO Tiong Min

Prof YEO Tiong Min is the Yong Pung How Chair Professor of Law at Singapore Management University (SMU) since 2007, serving as Dean (2012–2017) and previously Associate Dean (Research). He holds a D.Phil. from Oxford (2002) and has extensive academic leadership roles in Singaporean legal academia. His research focuses on Private International Law, Conflict of Laws, Contract Remedies, and Equity. Notable works include Commercial Conflict of Laws (2023) and numerous reports for the Singapore Academy of Law's Law Reform Committee.

Education: D.Phil. (Oxford, 2002), B.C.L. (Oxford, 1992), LL.B. (NUS, 1990). Professional qualifications include Advocate & Solicitor (2002) and Honorary Senior Counsel (2012). He co-chairs the Council of Law Reporting and advises the Asian Business Law Institute. His scholarship emphasizes party autonomy in cross-border disputes, legal harmonization, and equitable doctrines in commercial law.

Publications reflect deep engagement with choice of law agreements, jurisdictional thresholds, and restitutionary principles.
