Andrew Mountford

Andrew Mountford is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London. He holds a PhD from Brown University and previously served as a Lecturer at the University of Southampton. His research focuses on Macroeconomics, Income Distribution, and International Trade, with contributions to Sustainable Development Goals related to economic growth and inequality reduction. He has conducted significant work on migration's economic impacts, including its effects on training, productivity, and global income distribution.

Professor Mountford has published extensively in top journals such as the Journal of Applied Econometrics and Review of Economic Studies. His recent work includes analyzing skilled immigration's role in workforce training and the implications of fiscal policy shocks on economies. He led a research project (2017–2018) examining how immigration affects native workers' training opportunities, distinguishing between EU and non-EU migrants.
