Philipp Wangner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Mannheim since September 2024. He previously held a Postdoctoral Research Scholar position in the Economics Division at Columbia Business School. His research bridges macroeconomic theory with empirical analysis of inequality, fiscal/monetary policy, and stabilization mechanisms.

His methodological innovations include tractable heterogeneous agent New Keynesian (T-HANK) models and analytical characterizations of fiscal multiplier effects.
