Andrew McMillan is Professor of Contemporary Writing at Manchester Writing School and Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. An award-winning poet, his debut 'physical' (2015) was the first poetry collection to win the Guardian First Book Award. Subsequent works include 'playtime' (Polari Prize 2018) and 'pandemonium' (2021).
He teaches poetry and creative writing pedagogy across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supervising PhD research. His scholarly work examines representations of the body, masculinity, and queer identities in contemporary literature.
