Amy Sackville is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London. She teaches on the MA Creative and Life Writing program and supervises PhD students. Her academic background includes an MA in Creative and Life Writing (Goldsmiths, 2008), an MPhil in English Studies (Oxford, 2004), and a BA in English and Theatre Studies (Leeds, 2002).
- Research Interests: Narrative structure, ekphrasis, intertextuality, historical novels, and the creative process as a field of inquiry.
- Awards: Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature (2018), Somerset Maugham Award (2013), John Llewellyn Rhys Prize (2010).
Her recent publications include Painter to the King (2019), Orkney (2014), and The Still Point (2010). She has contributed to Refugee Tales IV and Rhythmanalysis, exploring themes of migration and urban space. Current projects include The Cheapside Hoard exhibition captions for the New Museum of London and digital initiatives like A Journey Around Our Rooms.
Grants: Awards for Orkney (Somerset Maugham) and The Still Point (John Llewellyn Rhys Prize).
