Andrew Lister is a Part-time Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, where he teaches courses in employment law, pension and benefits, professional responsibility and legal ethics, civil procedure, and trial advocacy. He also taught Economics and Public Administration at Carleton University at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- B.A. (hons) in French Literature from Dalhousie University
- L.L.B. and B.C.L. from McGill University
- L.L.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science
Andrew’s research and teaching interests focus on practical and theoretical aspects of law, including Employment Law, Labour Law, Legal Ethics, Civil Procedure, and Trial Advocacy. His interdisciplinary expertise also extends to Public Administration and Economics, reflecting his diverse professional background.
With nearly 30 years of litigation experience in employment and labour law, human rights, and administrative law, Andrew has represented unions, employers, and employees across numerous tribunals and courts, including the Ontario Superior Court, Divisional Court, Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court of Appeal. His membership in the Law Societies of Ontario and the Northwest Territories underscores his standing in the legal profession.
