Andrew Laurie is a Research Fellow at the Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit (MIASU) within the University of Cambridge. His work focuses on conservation planning, biodiversity policy development, and environmental training across Mongolia, China, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka. Previously, he conducted doctoral research on the Greater One-horned Rhinoceros in Nepal and India and spent seven years studying Marine Iguanas in the Galapagos.

Laurie is currently advising a snow leopard conservation project in Afghanistan funded by the Global Environment Festival (GEF), though travel restrictions due to the pandemic have shifted his involvement to remote collaboration. His career emphasizes bridging governmental policy, public action, and NGO efforts to combat global species and habitat loss.
He is affiliated with MIASU, located at The Mond Building, Cambridge, and contributes to research initiatives such as trans-border water management, Mongolian cosmopolitical heritage, and Buddhist book culture studies.
