Dr. Bumochir Dulam is an Affiliate of the Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit (MIASU) at the University of Cambridge, operating within the Department of Social Anthropology. Based at The Mond Building, Free School Lane, Cambridge CB2 3RF, he contributes to MIASU's interdisciplinary research on Mongolia, Inner Asia, and neighboring regions including Siberia, Tibet, and China.
His research focuses on Inner Asian cultural heritage, borderland anthropology, and trans-border environmental systems. Key areas include socio-ecological dynamics of river basins (e.g., Selenge River), preservation of intangible traditions, and cosmopolitical healing practices across the Mongolian-Chinese border. He engages with Kalmyk cultural documentation and Himalayan connections through field-based, interdisciplinary methodologies.
Dr. Dulam participates in MIASU projects such as ‘Resource frontiers: managing water on a trans-border Asian river’ and ‘Mongolian Cosmopolitical Heritage,’ utilizing historical, ethnographic, and environmental approaches to address regional challenges. His work emphasizes community-centered knowledge systems in politically complex landscapes.
