Andrew Keitt is an Associate Professor and Director of the UAB Department of History's graduate program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He specializes in early modern European cultural and intellectual history, particularly 16th- and 17th-century Spain. Dr. Keitt is the author of multiple books and articles, including Inventing the Sacred: Imposture, Inquisition, and the Boundaries of the Supernatural in Golden Age Spain. He teaches courses ranging from Western Civilization surveys to graduate seminars on the Spanish Inquisition and cognitive science of religion. His innovative teaching methods include Team-Based Learning and Reacting to the Past. Awards include the Carnegie Foundation's Alabama Professor of the Year honor.
