Andrew J. Hogan is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Creighton University and holds the Fr. Henry W. Casper SJ Professorship. He serves as the Director of the Science and Medicine in Society Program and is based in the Humanities Center 225.
Education:

Hogan’s research focuses on the evolution of clinical perspectives on disability, particularly how medical professionals have characterized developmental and intellectual disabilities since the 1940s. His work bridges medical models with social models of disability, analyzing historical shifts in genetics, pediatrics, and clinical psychology. He is currently working on a book exploring inclusive medical practices in genetic counseling and pediatrics.
