- Fellowships in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at University of Chicago Children’s Hospital (1994–1998)
Research Interests: Dr. Hogan’s work emphasizes gene therapy for genetic blood disorders, late toxicities of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT), and optimizing care for pediatric cancer survivors. She collaborates on clinical trials involving novel therapies for hemophilia and sickle cell disease. Her recent publications highlight advancements in diagnostic approaches for soft tissue sarcomas, spinal tumors, and neurocognitive outcomes in cancer survivors.
Publications Trends: Her articles focus on translational therapies (e.g., lentiviral gene therapy for adrenoleukodystrophy), diagnostic challenges in pediatric oncology, and managing treatment-related complications like tumor lysis syndrome. Recent work also addresses quality-of-life issues for childhood cancer survivors.
Awards:
- Make A Wish Foundation Honoree (2003)
- Pediatrics Post-Doctoral Research Day Award (University of Chicago, 1996 & 1997)
Grants & Trials: Sub-investigator on clinical trials evaluating gene-edited stem cells for sickle cell disease, immunotherapy combinations for lymphoma, and targeted therapies for gliomas. She leads efforts to improve access to cutting-edge treatments through the Children’s Oncology Group.
Labs & Teams: Collaborates with the Yale Cancer Center and the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program to advance multidisciplinary care. Engaged in translational research to bridge laboratory discoveries with clinical practice.
