Andrew Griffin is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and serves as Director of Graduate Studies. He holds a BA from Queen's University, Kingston, and a PhD from McMaster University. His research focuses on Early Modern Studies, Cultural Studies, Literary Theory, and Renaissance Literature, with a particular emphasis on early modern drama, historiography, and theatre history.
Griffin's recent publications include the book *Untimely Deaths in Renaissance Drama* (2019) and articles on figures like Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, and John Stow. He is actively involved in editorial work, serving as Associate Textual Editor for Queen’s Men Editions and a member of the Linked Early Modern Drama Online group. He also leads the EMC Imprint, an award-winning digital press for early modern scholarship.
His teaching includes courses such as *Studies in Renaissance Literature* and *Introduction to Literary Study*. He advises graduate students interested in early modern drama, historiography, and critical editing. His work bridges literary analysis with digital humanities, reflecting a commitment to interdisciplinary research and scholarly innovation.
