Andrew Gott serves as Lecturer in Bassoon Performance within the Department of Music at Washington University in St. Louis, concurrently holding the position of Assistant Principal Bassoon with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra since 2006.
His educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Music from Ball State University and a Master of Music from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, where he studied under Ben Kamins.
Gott maintains an active dual career as both performer and educator. His orchestral repertoire spans principal bassoon roles with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, and Woodlands Symphony, alongside festival appearances at Tanglewood, Aspen, and Domain Forget. As a chamber musician, he regularly performs with ensembles including the Norfolk Chamber Consort and Virginia Arts Festival.
His pedagogical contributions extend to faculty positions at Governor’s School for the Arts, Old Dominion University, Christopher Newport University, and Ball State Bassoon Camp, where he mentors emerging bassoonists through applied instruction and masterclasses.
