Andrew Geronimo

Andrew Geronimo serves as Lecturer in Law and Director of the First Amendment Clinic at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he joined in 2017 as the Stanton Foundation First Amendment Fellow. His work centers on clinical legal education and active litigation within the Milton and Charlotte Kramer Law Clinic Center.

Education:

His practice and teaching focus on civil litigation involving free speech, free press, and government transparency issues, with particular emphasis on defamation defense and affirmative First Amendment claims. Geronimo has handled numerous cases in Ohio state and federal courts, representing clients across the spectrum of speech-related disputes while maintaining active engagement with national free speech controversies through media commentary.

As a frequent speaker for the American Bar Association and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Geronimo has contributed to public discourse through publications and quotes in major outlets including The Los Angeles Times, NPR, and Vox. His decade-long service on the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Certified Grievance Committee demonstrates commitment to legal ethics beyond his clinical teaching responsibilities in the First Amendment Clinic and Intellectual Property Venture Clinic.

Admitted to practice in all Ohio courts, U.S. District Courts for Northern and Southern Ohio, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, he maintains an active litigation practice while directing student clinicians in real-world First Amendment cases.
