Benjamin Wilson

Benjamin Wilson serves as the Stanton Foundation Legal Fellow in the First Amendment Clinic at Washington University School of Law, representing clients in litigation advancing freedom of speech, press, and assembly rights.

His academic background includes:

• Linguistics studies at the University of Iowa following a year in Belgium
• Law degree, cum laude, from St. Louis University School of Law
• Judicial externship for Hon. G. Patrick Murphy (U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois)
• Law clerk positions for Hon. David R. Herndon and Hon. William D. Stiehl

Wilson specializes in First Amendment jurisprudence with concentrated expertise in speech and press freedoms. He co-founded MO Free Speech, a Missouri nonprofit dedicated to public education about free speech history and principles. Prior to his fellowship, he practiced civil litigation defending Fortune 500 manufacturers in Missouri and Illinois courts, bringing practical litigation experience to his academic clinic role.
