Andrew Evans

Andrew Evans (they/them) is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Health, Humanities, and Society at the Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values, University of Notre Dame. Their research focuses on the intersections of suffering, well-being, and mental healthcare, alongside bioethics, philosophy of psychology, and socially engaged philosophy of science.

• Education: Ph.D. in Philosophy and M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati.

Andrew investigates foundational questions in mental healthcare, such as the definition of mental disorders, the ethical treatment of suffering, and the role of values in science. Their work bridges philosophical inquiry with practical applications in healthcare settings.
