Andrew DeBoer is the Department Head of Music and Theatre and Associate Professor of Clarinet at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. He holds the James & Ann Bumpass Distinguished Chair and maintains an active performance career as principal clarinetist with the Fort Smith Symphony, while also performing with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and Symphony of Northwest Arkansas.

His research and professional interests focus on clarinet performance, music education, and orchestral collaboration. DeBoer has released solo albums including collaborations with Wind and Wood Duo and contributions to NAXOS label recordings of Louis Ballard and Florence Price works.
DeBoer has mentored students accepted into prestigious institutions like Cleveland Institute of Music, New York University, and Vanderbilt University. His career integrates performance, pedagogy, and academic leadership in music disciplines.
