Andrew Croll is a Principal Lecturer in History within the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries at the University of South Wales. His research explores Victorian-era social issues, particularly urban poverty, welfare systems, industrial disputes, and the cultural history of leisure destinations like Barry Island. He serves as a trustee for both Llafur: the Welsh People's History Society and Glamorgan County History.
Croll's publications examine historical poverty management and Welsh leisure culture. His book on Barry Island documents its development as a working-class resort. Current research projects analyze industrial dispute impacts during the late Victorian period and Barry Island's social history. He teaches modules on Victorian crime, poverty history, and global frontiers.
