Paolo Baffero is a Researcher and Research Assistant in Criminology at the University of South Wales, affiliated with the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education and the Criminology, Policing and Security Research and Innovation Group. His work focuses on Indigenous justice systems, legal pluralism, and restorative justice, particularly in Bolivia. He holds a PhD in Criminology from the University of South Wales, supervised by Prof. K Williams and Dr. A Wardak.
Research interests include the intersection of Indigenous legal traditions with modern legal frameworks, vulnerability in legal systems, and wildlife crime policies. His recent publications explore consumer vulnerability in legal markets, Aymara justice practices, and environmental crime prevention strategies. He collaborates internationally on topics related to Bolivia’s legal systems and global restorative justice models.
Paolo has contributed to commissioned reports for governmental bodies like the Welsh Government, focusing on rural crime coordination and policy implementation. His work bridges anthropological insights with criminological analysis, emphasizing culturally grounded legal solutions.
