Andrew Chybowski is an Associate Professor at Pittsburg State University Department of Music, where he conducts the Wind Ensemble and teaches music education courses and conducting at undergraduate and graduate levels. He founded an annual educator’s conducting workshop, co-founded the Pittsburg Community Band, and directs the Four State Symphonic Winds—a regional ensemble of educators and students.

Research Interests focus on the wind music of Joseph Schwantner, the evolution of wind band repertoire, and conducting pedagogy, particularly the relationship between score study, gesture, and rehearsal techniques.

Scientific Awards include honorary memberships in Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Mu Alpha. His leadership has resulted in performance invitations for the PSU Wind Ensemble at the Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop and the Four State Symphonic Winds at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference.
Additional Roles: Active clinician for honor bands, music camps, and band programs across the four-state region. Previously taught in public schools in Texas and North Carolina.
