Andrei Kavaleuski is a tenured Principal Researcher at the CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering, University of Aveiro, Portugal. He coordinates CICECO’s Research Line 2 (Energy and Industrial Applications). His academic background includes a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Belarusian State University (2002), followed by postdoctoral research at University of Aveiro and VITO Belgium. He has supervised 2 postdocs, 4 PhD students, and 1 MSc student as of 2021, with notable achievements including a top-ranked MSc thesis in Materials Science (2019).
Research Interests: Focus on high-temperature thermoelectrics (waste heat conversion, solar energy), functional porous ceramics (catalytic applications), carbon-lean metal extraction (electrochemical reduction), and mixed ionic-electronic conductors for fuel cells/oxygen membranes.
