Pedro J. Carvalho

Pedro J. Carvalho is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and a researcher at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Aveiro (2011). His research focuses on sustainable chemical processes, including CO₂ capture, eco-solvents development, and biorefinery technologies. He leads the PATh research group (Process and Product Applied Thermodynamics), which specializes in green chemistry innovations, with 29 PhD and 8 MSc students under its supervision. Key collaborations span institutions in Saudi Arabia, India, Brazil, and Europe.

Dr. Carvalho coordinates EU projects like REVITALISE (battery recycling) and has published over 109 journal articles. His work emphasizes membrane technologies, ionic liquids, and process optimization for environmental sustainability.
